H.E. Mr. Lv Xinhua , Chairman of the council for promoting South to South cooperation (CPSSC) of China lead a 50-person Chinese business delegation and visited Capital command center of Safe city Islamabad Project on Tuesday morning. Officials of the Embassy of the people’s republic of china in the Islamic republic of Pakistan accompanied the delegation during the visit.
Director General of Islamabad Safe City Project, Deputy Inspector General of police Faisal Ali Raja warmly welcomed the delegation and gave them a full-image introduction about the project’s successful stories.
Shedding light on working of project, the Director General told the delegation how Islamabad Safe City Project has helped the law enforcement agencies and Islamabad District Administration to bring down crime rate at fast pace.
“The staff of Islamabad Safe City remains vigilant twenty four hours seven days a week. There’s no concept of Day and Night in Command and Control center of Islamabad Safe City. We are making best use of latest technology to curb on criminals making the city safe and sound,” Director General told the delegation.
In order to know how that project works, the delegation inspected different sections of project’s command and control center including ‘complaint center ‘ and huge electronic wall which live broadcast footage transmitted by thousands of safe city cameras installed across Islamabad city.
Members of delegation took keen interest in huge electronic wall which was broadcasting live footage of cameras installed throughout the city.
“The information collected from thousands of surveillance cameras, intelligent detectors and explosive scanners covering major roads, sensitive areas and crowded localities, is transmitted in real-time to a control center where staff, record and take action when necessary,” Project director informed the delegates.
They were pleased to know that Safe City Islamabad Project has been instrumental in reducing crime rate in the federal capital and there was recorded 11% decrease in major crimes in the city since 2017.
“There has been observed sharp decline in incidents of thefts, terrorism and robberies in the city soon after inauguration of Islamabad Safe city Islamabad project where dutiful staff immediately intimate law enforcement agencies In case of emergency,” Director General told Chinese delegation.
The Chinese delegation praised the hard work and excellent performance of the safe city staff.
“You are doing great job. We appreciate effort of team of Islamabad Safe City Project for making the city safe. Not only Huawei, but also other Chinese companies are ready to provide more assistance if required,” H.E. Mr. Lv Xinhua , chairman of the council for promoting South to South cooperation (CPSSC) of China told Director General of Islamabad Safe City Project.
The Director General of Safe City project appreciated the support from Chinese government for building up the project.
During the visit, the project management team also presented the concern to expend the project scope to more area since the capital territory has extended a lot during the past nine years, and requested that if there is any Chinese grant available to support the expansion since it will also enhance the security of Chinese living in Islamabad.
