In a significant achievement for Pakistan’s medical community, over 1,000 Pakistani doctors have secured residency positions in the United States this year. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has hailed this as a historic success and a proud moment for the nation’s healthcare and education sectors.
According to a PMDC spokesperson, the doctors who earned these prestigious placements are graduates from some of the country’s leading medical institutions, including King Edward Medical University, Allama Iqbal Medical College, Dow Medical College, Shifa College of Medicine, Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU), and Khyber Medical University.
Professor Dr. Rizwan Taj, President of the PMDC, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the 1,061 doctors, praising their dedication and outstanding performance. He stated that this accomplishment reflects the high standards upheld by the PMDC in medical education and training.
“This remarkable achievement is a testament to the robust curriculum, rigorous training programs, and quality assurance mechanisms in place across Pakistan’s medical institutions,” Dr. Taj said. “It highlights the global competitiveness of our medical graduates and showcases the strength of our educational system.”
He added that this milestone not only enhances the global image of Pakistani medical professionals but also reaffirms the country’s commitment to producing world-class healthcare practitioners.
The PMDC emphasized that such successes serve as motivation for future medical students and reinforce the importance of maintaining international standards in education and professional development.
This achievement comes at a time when global demand for qualified medical professionals is on the rise, and Pakistani doctors continue to play a critical role in healthcare systems around the world.
