The Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication, through its subsidiary National Technology Fund (Ignite), has officially launched a nationwide program titled “Digital Pakistan Cyber Security Hands-on Workshops” to strengthen cyber security capabilities across the country.
The initiative aims to enhance cyber security skills and reinforce the protection of Pakistan’s digital infrastructure amid growing cyber threats. Under this national program, practical and interactive workshops will be conducted in major cities across Pakistan, providing hands-on training to thousands of participants.
These workshops are designed to equip students, IT professionals, and industry practitioners with in-demand cyber security tools, techniques, and real-world defensive strategies. Participants will gain exposure to modern cyber security practices, enabling them to effectively identify, prevent, and respond to digital threats.
This initiative builds upon Ignite’s ongoing commitment to cyber security capacity building, including national-level Cyber Security Hackathons that have been organized regularly since 2021. The new workshop series represents a significant expansion of these efforts, focusing on applied learning and workforce readiness.
According to officials, Pakistan currently faces a shortage of trained cyber security professionals, while specialized academic programs in this critical field remain limited. The Digital Pakistan Cyber Security Hands-on Workshops aim to bridge this gap by creating a skilled talent pool and expanding employment opportunities in the fast-growing cyber security sector.
The program is expected to play a vital role in strengthening Pakistan’s digital ecosystem, supporting national cyber resilience, and preparing youth for emerging opportunities in the global digital economy.
