With world-class facilities now in place, the stadium is set to host international matches, including the Tri-Nation Series and the prestigious ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
The grand inauguration ceremony featured a breathtaking display of fireworks, a dazzling light show, and live musical performances by renowned singers Sahir Ali Bagga and Shafqat Amanat Ali. In a generous move by the PCB administration, entry to the event was made free for the public, drawing a massive crowd, particularly from the youth, who enjoyed both the inauguration and the musical spectacle.
The revamped National Bank Stadium has been developed to meet international standards, ensuring the smooth organization of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches, three of which will be played at the venue. The stadium now boasts a state-of-the-art pavilion, digital screens, LED lights, and thousands of new chairs to enhance the spectator experience.
The newly constructed pavilion includes world-class dressing rooms for players and match officials, high-quality hospitality rooms, and cutting-edge broadcasting facilities. The installation of 350 LED lights has significantly improved broadcast quality, while two digital replay screens and over 5,000 new chairs have been added to boost spectator comfort.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the stadium’s transformation was completed in a record time of just four months, showcasing remarkable dedication and efficiency. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi personally oversaw the progress, ensuring the timely completion of the project. Speaking at the event, Naqvi emphasized that the stadium upgrade reflects PCB’s vision of elevating Pakistan’s cricketing venues to international standards.
